Deleted more than 2500 YouTube channels in China

Washington, Aug. 7, 2020, Friday

Earlier, India banned 59 Chinese apps. This was followed by a ban on 47 apps again. Now Google has also taken a special step towards China. Google's decision will be a major setback for China. Google has deleted more than 2,500 YouTube channels in China.

It is worth mentioning that misleading information was being spread through these Chinese YouTube channels. The video sharing platform has removed these Chinese YouTube channels after receiving its information. Google said the YouTube channels were removed between April and June. Google says the move is based on an ongoing investigation into an influence operation linked to China.

Google has notified in its quarterly bulletin of misleading information operations, saying that spammy, non-political content was posted on these channels, especially on the basis of YouTube. But it also had to do with politics. Although Google has not disclosed the name of the channel, it has provided some suggestions. The company said that a link to the video with such activity is now being seen on Twitter as well.
