A Chinese national was arrested while studying as a scholar at the University of Virginia in the United States and spying for China. He was caught trying to flee China after realizing that the government had learned that he was a spy.

This Chinese spy was introduced as Hijo Hu. He was accused of leaking information related to trade and commerce. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Hijo leaked information from a computer that was not allowed to be touched. Although the computer was protected, Hyjo sat on it and stole some of the data, the Justice Department said in a press release. The list further states that Hiu Hu is a native of China and has been accused of stealing trade and commerce information.

The list goes on to say that the US government, realizing that he was a spy, was quick to intercept the plane as it prepared to flee.

It may be recalled that tensions have been building between the US and China for some time now. The United States has banned some Chinese apps and shut down a Chinese embassy.
