Centre's blueprint for new Jammu and New Srinagar, Prime Minister himself keeps an eye on the project

-However all the details are kept private

New Delhi Dated 14th August 2020 Friday

It was learned that the Center was working on a project to build a new Jammu and Srinagar after the state was criticized for not developing the kind of claims that were made even after the repeal of Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The project is said to be overseen by the Prime Minister himself. Currently, however, the details of the project were kept secret from the media.

According to a government spokesperson, the Centre's Urban Development Department and the local administration of Jammu and Kashmir were working together on the project. Last week, former Union Minister and veteran BJP leader Manoj Sinha, who was considered a confidant of the Prime Minister, was appointed as the Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. He will also keep an eye on the project. Details of the project are expected to be released soon. However, at present, all concerned have been strictly instructed to keep their mouths shut.

The spokesperson said that a blueprint of the ancient world famous Ronak Bakshwani was also prepared for the area around Dal Sarovar in the Kashmir Valley. The area is densely populated and its image has been tarnished for some time. Pollution and the excesses of tourism made the area dirty. There was encroachment around Dal Sarovar. The encroachment in the new project will be cleared and Dal Sarovar will be given back its original luster. The spokesperson said that the Prime Minister plans to make Jammu and Srinagar more attractive by transforming it. The Center is also prepared to incur huge expenses for this.

It is pertinent to recall that some time ago, US lawmakers also expressed concern that the repeal of Article 370 came a year ago but the situation in Kashmir has not returned to normal. The atmosphere is still the same as before. The central government then handed over the responsibility of preparing the project for the new Jammu and New Srinagar to the Central Town Development Department.
