-Supreme Court agrees to hold elections

-All parties have to run

New Delhi 28th August 2020 Friday

The Supreme Court today ruled that Corona's excuse could not prevent the timely holding of the Bihar Assembly elections. The Supreme Court held that the petition was childish.

It may be recalled here that the Election Commission had recently announced that the Assembly elections in Bihar would be held on time. The state election officials were also urged to do so, the commission said. The term of the Bihar Assembly expires at the end of this year.

Even before that, political parties and leaders had begun to formulate their own strategies. When Dalit leader Jitan Manjhi left the party, RJD overnight pushed other Dalit leaders in the party and claimed that Jitan Manjhi's departure would not make any difference to us. Similarly, LJP leaders accused Nitish Kumar of ignoring us.

During the hearing, Justice Ashok Bhushan said that corona infection could not be a valid reason for postponing the Assembly elections.

The Election Commission has not yet made any formal announcement. This application is immature. The Election Commission will consider every issue before holding Assembly elections. Why do you think the Election Commission will not consider this issue? The court held that the application was not timely and not fully mature.

Almost every political party and leader is now afraid of assembly elections. There are two main reasons for this. The first reason is Corona. The second reason is more important but the reason was not presented in the Supreme Court. That is because of the floods in the rivers. 90 lakh people were adversely affected by the floods.
