Lucknow 13th August 2020 Thursday

While the BJP paid homage to the Ram temple in Ayodhya, SP's Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday announced that he would set up a huge statue of Lord Krishna. Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav and BSP's Mayawati had announced the construction of a Parashuram temple to entertain Brahmin voters. But now Akhilesh had chosen Lord Krishna instead of Parashuram.

On Wednesday, on the occasion of Janmashtami, Akhilesh posted a picture on Instagram. In this picture, he is seen with his wife Dimple and these two are looking at a huge idol of Lord Krishna. Akhilesh was making the statue in his ancestral village Saifai. Akhilesh wrote in a post on Instagram. 'Jai Kanha, Jai Kunjbihari, Jai Nand Dulare Jai Banwari, best wishes to all on Shri Krishna Janmashtami ...'

Political observers believe that the BJP got a major issue in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2022 as the Ram temple land has been worshiped. So the other parties have to show something special. Like Mayawati, Akhilesh had earlier come up with the idea of a Parashuram temple. But other parties were pushing the issue of Parashuram temple and now Akhilesh had chosen the lyricist Lord Krishna. Believing that the Yadavas are the heirs of the Yadu dynasty, Akhilesh announced the installation of an idol of Lord Krishna in Saifai.

Brahmins have been vocal in their opposition to the yogi government for some time now, so parties other than the BJP were planning to woo Brahmin voters. First the Congress and then the BSP announced to appease the Brahmin voters. Now the SP had taken hold of Lord Krishna's pitambar to strengthen its vote bank.
