World Population Day: Modi government minister demands introduction of population control law in India

New delhi date. 11. Saturday, July 2020

As World Population Day is being celebrated today, Giriraj Singh, a minister in the Modi government and in the midst of controversy over his controversial statements, has again demanded the implementation of the Population Control Act in India.

Giriraj Singh said that if we have to deal with developed countries, we have to curb the population and for this a drastic population control law is very much needed. Any religion or community then has to apply.

BJP firebrand leader Giriraj Kishor has earlier spoken of implementing a law for population control.

When the world's population reached 5 billion on this day in 1989, the United Nations declared July 11 every year as World Population Day to raise awareness.
