Will Oli hold mid-term elections in Nepal? Possibility of playing a ploy to dissolve Parliament

Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who has been trying to retain power with the backing of China, is in the process of dissolving parliament and holding mid-term elections, according to a Nepali media report.

According to a report in Nepali daily Kantipur, Kamal Pushpa Dahal 'Prachanda' and KP Sharma Oli were both vying to beat each other. Oli's preparations gave the impression that he would jump into the Communist Party of Nepal. A meeting of the party's standing committee was being convened to decide Oli's fate. Oli was also preparing for the meeting. He was reportedly preparing his final speech for the dissolution of Parliament and for the mid-term elections. Oli was found to have two plans in mind. The first plan is to tear the Communist Party to pieces and keep the party's election symbol, and the second option is to hold mid-term elections. Either way the breakdown of the party is certain.

The Chinese ambassador rushed to convene a meeting between the two groups to resolve differences between Oli and Prachanda. But the Chinese ambassador could not hold a meeting between the two groups. One group also fears that the violence that took place a few years ago could lead to a power struggle. Prachanda alleged that at the behest of Oli, some people had registered the name of a new party called CPN-UMN before the Election Commission.

Tensions were running high between the two groups. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

If a government was formed in Nepal at the behest of China, naturally India's tension was likely to increase.
