UP: Family refuses to take journalist's body, Ghaziabad goons shoot him to death

Ghaziabad on Wednesday, July 22, 2020

The family of Vikram Joshi, a journalist from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, flatly refused to take Vikram's body, demanding that we arrest the killers first and then take the body.

It may be recalled here that Vikram had lodged a complaint at the Pratap Vihar police station in Ghaziabad against the goons who repeatedly molested Vikram's nephew. The police did not take any action but instead informed the accused in some way that a complaint has been lodged against you.

On Monday evening, Vikram was on his way to his sister's birthday party when his bike was stopped by thugs on the way and he was earlier beaten up. He was then shot in the head.

Vikram died during treatment at the hospital. Her family flatly refused to take the body and demanded that the police arrest the killers first.

Police arrested five people based on CCTV at the scene. With Vikram's death, the pressure on the police naturally increased. "We have arrested a total of nine people so far," Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani claimed. A search is on for a gangster named Akash Bihari. Akash is the main suspect. We have formed five separate teams to catch him and an investigation is underway.

Vikram's nephew said that some goons, including Kamal-ud-din's son, were constantly teasing my sister, so my sister talked to Vikram's uncle. Vikram Mama had lodged a complaint at the Pratap Vihar police station but the police did not take any action. The thugs were roaming around. On Monday evening my mama was coming for my mother's birthday party when thugs stopped her bike on the road. First Mama was beaten and then shot in the head. It was too late when we got there.

Now Vikram's family refused to take Vikram's body and demanded that first the police catch the killers, then we will take the body. Police were trying to persuade the family.
