-No huge crowd can be seen in Lal Fort

New Delhi.24 July 2020, Friday

For the first time since the country became independent, the flag salute by the Prime Minister at the Red Fort on Independence Day this year will be Fikku. The reason would be Corona's fury.

Every year there is a huge crowd in front of the Prime Minister and standing behind the bulletproof glass, the Prime Minister addresses the masses and the entire nation through the media. Thousands of school children are present to applaud the Prime Minister.

But this time an alternative arrangement was considered because of Corona. As per the instructions received at present, this time only one and a half invitees will be present at the flag waving ceremony at the Red Fort. Preparations are in full swing, but don't be surprised if the festivities seem dull.

Very few guests will be invited this time, according to information provided by the home ministry. School children should not be excluded. Each guest must come wearing a mask. Sanitizers will be arranged at various places. Each guest will be sitting two meters away from the others. Union ministers, heads of the three wings of the army and many more will be ousted by the Covid Warriors.

In addition to the issue of a self-reliant India, the Prime Minister's State of the Nation address is expected to cover issues such as border security, Corona vaccine and indigenous efforts to fight Corona. The main theme of the discourse may be to applaud the Corona Warriors.

Police will be equipped with PPE kits for security on this occasion. The program at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the afternoon of Independence Day will also follow the precautionary measures taken against Corona this time. The Home Ministry is currently considering which of the 250 guests invited on the occasion should be escorted and which should be avoided. The guest list is not ready yet. Once the list is ready, it will be sent to the Ministry of Defense for approval. A new list will be prepared if the Ministry of Defense suggests any changes.
