Sibal's strike: After the governor took the oath of office to protect the interests of the BJP?

New delhi date. 28 July 2020, Tuesday

Former Union Minister Kapil Sibal has questioned Governor Kalraj Mishra amid ongoing political turmoil in Rajasthan. Kapil Sibal tweeted on Tuesday, asking whether Kalraj Mishra had taken the oath of office or the interests of the Bharatiya Janata Party. It may be mentioned that the Congress party is constantly questioning the governor for not convening the assembly session.

Kapil Sibal questioned whether the Rajasthan High Court would not abide by the rules laid down by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court. Is there any other law that is being followed?

Three senior Congress leaders, including Kipal Sibal, also wrote letters to Governor Kalraj Mishra. The letter writers Kapil Sibal, Salman Khurshid and Ashwini Kumar have also been the country's law ministers and wrote in the letter that a constitutional crisis could erupt in the state if the assembly session is not convened. Kapil Sibal also represented the party in the court on behalf of the Rajasthan Assembly Speaker.

In fact, the Congress government has asked Governor Kalraj Mishra to convene an assembly session. However, the governor has given a reason for the Corona virus crisis as well as lack of clarity in the letter. Apart from that, there is talk of a 21-day notice to convene the assembly session. Because of this, the Congress is constantly targeting Kalraj Mishra.

The Congress wants to prove its majority in the assembly as soon as possible or disqualify the Sachin Pilot faction by calling a session under some pretext. In these circumstances Congress is constantly striving for this but has not had any success yet.

Congress MLAs surrounded the Raj Bhavan to convene the session. Apart from that, Congress workers are protesting in various parts of the country. Earlier, the Congress had threatened to cordon off the Raj Bhavan, but withdrew the decision for fear of creating a constitutional crisis.
