Shopkeeper's license canceled

Coimbatore, 9 July 2020, Thursday

A shopkeeper who claims to have removed corona from his homemade sweets has now had to wash his hands of the shop's license.

While there is currently no cure or vaccine for corona, people are taking various measures to prevent it and are also taking advantage of the panic of many people. One such shopkeeper in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, claimed that corona could be made from sweets made in his shop.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has since filed a case against shopkeeper Shriram for spreading misleading propaganda and also revoked his license.

Officials asked the shopkeeper what ingredients were in the dessert that could cause the corona to rot, but the shopkeeper could not answer. Authorities also seized 120 kg of sweets from the shop.
