Raphael's first consignment will arrive in India today, Ambala ready, Air Force chief will receive

The strength of the Indian Air Force is going to increase manifold today. The long awaited Rafale aircraft is arriving in India today. The first batch of Raphael fighter jets will arrive in Ambala, India today as part of a deal between India and France. The first consignment will have a total of 5 fighter jets to be received by Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria himself.

The Raphael aircraft will be incorporated into the Air Force's Golden Arrow 17 Squadron. He played a key role in the Kargil war and is one of the oldest squadrons in India. Amid ongoing tensions with China, India is getting powerful fighter jets today. It will be stationed at a base in North India to entertain enemies in times of trouble.

Where is Raphael now?

The Raphael planes flew from France on Tuesday and were then refueled once in the air. The five fighter jets then landed at Al Dafra base in the UAE and resumed flights this morning (Wednesday) to reach Ambala, India by 2 pm.

How is the preparation in Ambala?

Nearly a decade and a half later, a state-of-the-art fighter jet is entering the Indian Air Force. It is also the entry of Raphael who has been a political issue in the country for the last two-three years.

Under these circumstances, security has been beefed up now that it is scheduled to land at Ambala Airbase. Section 144 has been applied around the base and at the same time photography other than official photography has been banned.

However, preparations are underway not only in Ambala but also in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, which is being taken as a backup. As there is a heavy rain alert in North India today, Raphael may be dropped off at Jodhpur if there is any weather problem in these circumstances.

What after Raphael's arrival?

The Raphael plane will arrive in India this afternoon and will then be received in the presence of the President of the Air Force. However it will not be a final induction in the Air Force as the process will be done in late August. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also be present as a guest.
