Patna, Ta. 26 July 2020, Sunday

The number of Koro infected people in Bihar is steadily increasing. However the pace of investigation is still slow. Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav has targeted the Nitish Kumar government over the Koro case. Tejaswi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, slammed the government over the Koro issue and questioned the slow pace of the probe.

Tejaswi Yadav tweeted that in a densely populated state like Bihar, only 0.35 per cent people have tested corona so far. Out of every 1 million people, only 3,508 are being investigated, which is the lowest in the country. According to him, the average number of investigations per day in 140 days is only 3,158. "Leaving aside the antigen tests that have been going on for the last two weeks, there are still 3,000 tests being done with great effort," Tejaswi said.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejaswi Yadav did not stop there. He further tweeted that the positivity rate in Bihar in July was 12.54 per cent which is the highest in the country. According to the RJD leader, 159 people have died from corona in the 25 days so far in July alone. That means an average of six people are dying every day.

According to Tejaswi Yadav's allegation, people are dying even without tests and treatment which is not being counted. According to him, the government must be serious now. It may be mentioned that assembly elections are also to be held in Bihar this year. Tejaswi Yadav is seeking to avoid the polls but the Election Commission has also started preparations for the polls.

Tejaswi Yadav had even said about Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that he wanted to hold elections on a pile of corpses. The population of Korona infected in Bihar has grown rapidly to 36,604. Corona infections have killed 234 people so far and more than 24,000 have recovered after treatment.
