More than 50,000 cases of corona in a single day for the first time in America

The number of daily corona cases in the US and South Africa has set a new record. For the first time in America, more than 50,000 cases of corona were reported in a single day. This shows how big the challenge of reopening is to revive the economies of countries devastated by the Corona.

Johns Hopkins University estimates that 50,700 new cases of corona have been reported in the United States in a single day. The states facing the epidemic blamed Americans for not wearing masks and not maintaining social distance for increasing the number of cases.

The rate at which the corona virus is spreading is a matter of concern, said California Governor Gavin Newsom. Bars, theaters and indoor restaurants will be closed on July 4, the country's Independence Day.

In the last 24 hours, 5,900 new cases of corona have been reported in California, while the daily death toll has risen to 110. The situation is serious in Florida with 6500 new cases, while in Texas and Arizona the situation is serious.

In South Africa, meanwhile, a new daily record has been set with 8124 new cases reported in a single day. More than four lakh cases of corona have been reported in Africa following the relaxation of the lockdown.

Meanwhile, India, the world's second most populous country, has added one lakh new cases of corona in the last four days. While 19,000 new cases were reported in India on Thursday, the total number has crossed 6 lakh.

Despite the growing infection, 250 hotels have been allowed to reopen in tourist-friendly Goa. Tourists will have to show a Covid-19 negative certificate or test a Corona on arrival in Goa.

Meanwhile, Mayor Yuriko Koike, who has registered 107 new cases of corona in the Japanese capital Tokyo, said many of the cases were linked to nightclubs and bars. He appealed to employees working in bars and clubs to get tested.

There were 54 new cases reported in South Korea. In Korea the infection has now spread to the city of Guangzhou. Schools have been closed and social restrictions tightened following the illness of dozens of people this week.

Corona patients are at greater risk if they smoke

The World Health Organization says smoking increases the risk of death for patients admitted to a hospital in Corona. However, the study did not say how much this risk increases.
