Madhya Pradesh: Police are constantly on the lookout for this VIP tree

Raisen (Madhya Pradesh) Dated 29th July 2020 Wednesday

Standing among many other trees and surrounded by a protective net, you can call this tree the only VIP (very important) tree in the country. Twelve months after the departure of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the tree is guarded. One and a half to two lakh rupees a month is spent on the maintenance of this tree. This tree is also considered the most sacred. Prince Siddhartha Mati, known as Gautam Buddha, attained the ultimate truth under this tree. This is about 300 years before Christ.

A branch of this tree was taken to Sri Lanka where it was planted. One such branch was planted by Sri Lankan President Mahendra Rajapaksa during the groundbreaking ceremony of Sanchi University. In addition to the Raisen district administration of Madhya Pradesh, the responsibility for the protection of this most important tree of the country lies with the Central Government.

In February of this year, the tree fell ill and had worms in its leaves. This was due to the sudden change of seasons. The Indian government immediately enlisted the help of archaeologists and spent millions of rupees to treat it. In summer the tree is specially watered by tankers.

The tree was planted in Raisen by the President of Sri Lanka and the Prime Minister of Japan on September 12, 2012. This tree has been known as the Bodhi tree for thousands of years. Buddhists from all over the world took the branches of the tree and planted them there. In some countries, Buddhist monks meditate in the shade of this tree. After being planted in India by the President of Sri Lanka and the Prime Minister of Japan, this tree is becoming a deciduous tree today.
