Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon died in Lucknow this morning after a long illness. Lalji Tandon had been undergoing treatment at Lucknow for a long time and 85-year-old Lalji Tandon breathed his last today. Lalji Tandon's son and minister in the UP government Ashutosh Tandon confirmed his death today and tweeted that Bapuji was no more.

Lalji Tandon's condition worsened late at night and he was kept on a ventilator in critical condition. The director of Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor informed about this. Admitted to hospital on 11 June

Problems with kidney and liver function

Lalji Tandon underwent surgery on June 13 and was shifted to a ventilator as his condition was more serious. In addition he was kept on a bi-pap machine for two days. Lalji Tandon was close to Atalji

Born on April 12, 1935 in Chowk village, Lucknow, Lalji Tandon was considered one of the senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She was close to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He has been a member of the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council many times. Lalji Tandon has been a minister in the BSP-BJP alliance and the Kalyan Singh government.

Victory from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat in 2009

Lalji Tandon was ousted from the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat in 2009 due to ill health of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He defeated Congress candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi by nearly 40,000 votes. On August 23, 2018, Lalji Tandon became the Governor of Bihar. He was then made the Governor of Madhya Pradesh on July 29, 2019.
