The weather has changed in many places in North India and heavy rains started this morning. An 80-foot wall collapsed at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, a world-famous pilgrimage site. Debris was strewn all around.

The meteorological department had forecast heavy rains. An alert had already been issued. On Monday night, an 80-foot wall collapsed due to lightning near Brahmakund near Har Ki Pauri. Luckily for Corona, the presence of people here is very low at present and it was night time so there was no news of food. No one was injured.

The downpour started with lightning and continued this morning. Shri Mahant Narendra Giri of Akhara Parishad reached Har Ki Pauri after getting information about the collapse of the wall and got information about the situation. Officials from the local administration also rushed to the spot. Security forces cordoned off the area and began removing debris.

Meanwhile, the local administration was alerted today as heavy rains were forecast and the system was alerted to prevent any untoward incident. Under normal circumstances, there is a huge crowd here on Shravan days. Due to the corona, most of the ghats of the Ganges fell to gold this time in Haridwar or elsewhere. Not only in Uttarakhand but in the whole of North India this time along with heavy rains, the incidence of lightning was increasing. More than 100 people have so far lost their lives in various places due to lightning in both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

This time the monsoon was heavier than the monsoons of the last few years.
