The teenager Balram went missing after Sunday morning. The fifth-grader went missing after lunch and went out to play with friends. Her family got a call around 3pm on Sunday that we had abducted your son. If you want it back alive, keep one crore rupees ready in an hour. The caller immediately hung up. The phone was switched off when Balram's father called the number. Eventually Balram's family lodged a complaint with the police. Police formed two or three detachments and launched an investigation.

But within hours, it was reported that the body of a teenager had fallen into a ditch in the village. It was Balram's body that was being investigated. The family was devastated to see his body. He was the brother of one of the five sisters. He was strangled to death.
