Air quality in India is deteriorating day by day. To date, the air in India is the most toxic. People inhale toxins and shorten life. In the last five years, India's air has become increasingly polluted, according to a survey. The survey found that the life expectancy of Indian citizens has declined by an average of five and a half to five and a half years.

According to the survey, more than 42% of the environment has been toxic since 1998. The survey, based on the Air Quality Life Index conducted by the University of Chicago in the United States, was based on the level of pollution in 2018. The survey concluded that residents of the capital New Delhi lose about nine and a half years of their lives due to environmental pollution. Residents of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, lose an average of six and a half years of life.

The survey opined that 84 per cent of India's population lives in areas where air quality is worse than the national standard. According to the World Health Organization, the air quality rate should be 40 micrograms per cubic meter. This is the air quality in almost any part of India. The air in the capital, New Delhi, was getting the worst.

The surveyors feared that in the coming days, at least 250 million people in northern India would lose eight years of their lives due to pollution, meaning they would die prematurely. If timely action is taken and adequate controls are placed on industries and factories, the environment will stop getting worse.
