Evama has announced relief to 80 million migrant laborers and needy families under the central government's Self-Reliant India Package.

According to the announcement, all the migrant workers had promised to provide free foodgrains in May-June. As per the decision of the Central Government, 5 kg of rice / wheat and 1 kg of chickpea per person will be provided free of cost to all tourists. For which the Center has provided 8 lakh metric tonnes of foodgrains to all the states.

In the case of consumers, however, the Ministry of Food and Public Distribution said in its records that the state government has saved 13% of the foodgrains received by migrant workers in the last two months.

Under the Self-Reliant India package, 80 million migrant workers without ration cards have been asked to provide 5-5 kg ​​of foodgrains in May and June, but so far only 2.13 crore workers have benefited from the scheme. 1.21 crore people in May, 92.44 crore people in June and 92.44 lakh people in June have benefited from this scheme.

According to an earlier announcement by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, all migrant workers will get 5 kg of rice or wheat and 1 kg of chickpeas for two months. The central government had announced a package of Rs 3,500 crore.

According to a report released by the ministry, all the 36 states and union territories have so far received 6.38 lakh metric tonnes of foodgrains. However, the central government has 8 lakh metric tonnes or 80% of the grain reserves. However, only 1.07 lakh metric tonnes of foodgrains have been distributed to the people. Which is 13% of the grain reserves by the Central Government.

According to the report, some states have taken their share of foodgrains for two months but have not yet distributed. Of this, Uttar Pradesh has set aside a quota of 1,42,033 metric tonnes from the central government. The region has received 1,40,637 metric tonnes of foodgrains but delivered only 3,324 metric tonnes of foodgrains to 4.39 lakh needy people in May and 2.25 lakh people in June. However so far only 2.03% of the grain has been distributed.

The Bihar government has taken 100 per cent of its quota of foodgrains (86,450 metric tonnes). But so far it has distributed 1.842 metric tonnes of foodgrains to 3.68 lakh needy people. However only 2.13 per cent of the grain has been distributed. The figures are for the month of May. No grain will be given to anyone in the month of June.

However, grain has been taken from these 11 regions, of which not even 1 per cent has been distributed to the people. These states include Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Odisha, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Tripura.
