Immediate improvement in law and order situation, letter written by Priyanka Gandhi to Yogi Adityanath

New delhi date. Tuesday 28 July 2020

Congress chief minister Priyanka Gandhi has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urging him to immediately rectify the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Referring to the major crime incidents that have taken place in the last three weeks, Priyanka alleged that the state's police system is either not efficient or has met with criminals. The Ghaziabad incident is a vivid example of this. A journalist who complained to the police about people who molested his niece was killed in the cold. Police allowed the details of the complaint to be leaked.

"You promised to give utopia to the people but looking at the recent events, it seems that Gundaraj has been established in Uttar Pradesh," Priyanka said. There is an urgent need to establish law and order in the state by cracking down on criminals. Priyanka also alleged that people were losing faith in your rule. You are losing the trust of the voters very fast so take immediate steps to spread the trust of the people in the legal system. You should take as much interest in the work of establishing law and order as you are in the work of Ram temple.

Priyanka also alleged that leaders of other parties put pressure on the police when the police take action against the culprits. That too should stop. Such leaders include leaders of the ruling party, Priyanka wrote. Sources close to Priyanka said a copy of the letter would be given to the media later.

Priyanka's letter emphasized that the situation could not continue for long.
