Haridwar: Lightning strikes a wall on Har Ki Pauri, debris spread all around

The weather has changed in North India and it is now raining in many places due to the monsoon. A continuous alert has also been issued for heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, the famous Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar has been badly damaged due to lightning. The wall collapsed due to lightning here and debris has spread all over the area.

An alert had already been issued by the weather department. Lightning struck Haridwar late Monday night, causing an 80-foot wall to collapse on Har Ki Pauri. The incident took place near Brahmakund in Har Ki Pauri. However, fortunately there was no crowd here as it was night time when the incident took place. Lightning struck and heavy rain fell.

After this incident, Mahant Narendra Giri of Akhara Parishad also reached Har Ki Pauri. He took control of the situation here. Now with the help of the local administration the debris is being removed and the whole area is being reorganized.

It is to be mentioned that Har Ki Pauri is crowded every Shravan month but this time the Kavadis are not allowed to come because of the corona. However, local devotees are still reaching Haridwar.

Lightning has struck many places in northern India in the last few days. Whether it is Bihar or Uttar Pradesh, more than 100 people have been killed in different parts of Bihar due to lightning strikes.

Due to the monsoon, it is now raining continuously. It is raining every day from Delhi to UP and from Bihar to Uttarakhand. Rains also inundated several places in Delhi and killed one person near Minto Bridge.
