Follow the agreement to maintain peace in border areas: India's advice to China

Amid tensions with China in Ladakh, India has once again warned China to abide by sincere agreements and protocols to maintain peace in the border areas. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, "We hope that the Chinese side will sincerely ensure the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the border areas as per the bilateral agreement and protocol."

A spokesman for the foreign ministry said the current meeting between senior commanders of India and China showed a commitment from both sides to reduce tensions at the LAC. In these circumstances we expect the Chinese side to sincerely adhere to the understanding and protocols and ensure efforts to maintain peace in the border areas.

Violent clashes in Ladakh on the night of 15 June

Border tensions between India and China are at an all-time high. On the night of June 15, a violent clash broke out between the two countries' troops in the Galwan Valley area of ​​eastern Ladakh in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed. Since then, tensions between the two countries have been rising. Talks are underway between the two sides to resolve the issue.

Statement on the issue of ban on Chinese apps

On the issue of ban on 59 Chinese applications, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said foreign tech companies have to abide by the rules and regulations promulgated by the concerned ministries and departments while operating in India. These rules deal with the security and privacy of the general public's data. The government has taken action in this regard due to lack of compliance.
