Fatal attack on a journalist in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow Dat. 21 July 2020 Tuesday

Vikas Dubey's news has not yet dried up. A gangster was fatally attacked by some thugs in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday night.

The journalist's crime was that he had lodged a police complaint alleging that his niece was being molested and harassed repeatedly. Police, however, did not take any action or make any arrests.

Journalist Vikram Joshi has lodged a complaint of molestation of his nephew. Some people shot journalist Vikram Joshi in the head on Monday night after the goons got information. Vikram was rushed to a hospital.

A hospital spokesman said Vikram's condition was serious. She is undergoing treatment. Details of the shooting at Vikram were captured on CCTV if police wanted to take action. The attackers can be identified on CCTV. A total of five people came to attack.

Police have now arrested five people. There was a murmur among the people that this situation would not have arisen if the police had taken action when Vikram lodged the complaint. Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani told media that Vikram was returning home to his sister from there on Monday night when five assailants struck and shot her.

In Ghaziabad, complaints of rising anti-social elements were on the rise while Rao also complained that the police were not taking timely action. However, the reason why some thugs have the backing of political leaders is responsible for the police not taking immediate action.

Vikram's family says action should have been taken immediately after the police registered a complaint of molestation.
