Expired glucose given to four children at Jodhpur hospital, probe ordered

Jodhpur, Ta. 7 July 2020, Tuesday

Amid the Corona crisis, a case of gross negligence at a hospital in Jodhpur in Rajasthan has come to light. Four children were allegedly given expired glucose at Umaid Hospital in Jodhpur. However, fortunately all four children are healthy and do not seem to have any problems. An inquiry has been ordered into the whole matter.

The superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Ranjana Desai said a committee has been formed to probe the case. Action will be taken if anyone is found guilty in this case. Currently all four children are healthy and have no problems.

However why the expired glucose fell in the hospital ward is the subject of an investigation. There seems to be two levels of negligence on the whole issue. One was that the in-charge did not pay enough attention and the other was that the glucose elevator was not vigilant enough.

Despite the gross negligence at this hospital in Jodhpur, Rajasthan tops the list of Corona affected states in the country in terms of Corona recovery rate. In Rajasthan, the recovery rate of corona patients has gone up to 80.2 per cent. In Rajasthan, about 8.45 lakh people have been tested, of which 19,000 have tested positive for corona. However, the number of active cases of corona in Rajasthan is only 3,307.
