Demonstration against China-PAK dam project in PoK, people take to the streets in Muzaffarabad

Islamabad, Ta. 07 July 2020 Tuesday

Voices are being raised against China in different parts of the world. Hundreds of people protested against China in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Monday and accused the Pakistani government of colluding with them. Here in Muzaffarabad, people are protesting against a dam project being built jointly by China and Pakistan.

In Muzaffarabad, the Pakistani government is building a dam near the Jhelum and Neelam rivers with the help of China, but Muzaffarabad residents say they have no information about it, nor have they been asked.

Residents of PoK alleged that the Pakistani government had struck a deal with China to build the dam only for money. In which the people of PoK have no benefit and their advice has not been taken.

This is not the first time that the PoK has spoken out against Pakistan and China. In the past, the people of PoK have been protesting against the One Belt One Road project being built by China.

The way China has become isolated in the world after the Koro crisis and the subsequent conflict with India has turned some big countries against it. This has caused a stir in Pakistan. Pakistan's foreign ministry has handed over a report to Prime Minister Imran Khan. In which he has asked to consider Pakistan's China policy.

That is because at present there is only one Pakistan that stands with China at all times. If the world separates China, it will have a big impact on Pakistan.

Pakistan has borrowed from China for a long time and China has now reached everywhere in Pakistan. The port of Gwadar in Karachi is now entirely occupied by China. This is the reason why voices against China are constantly being raised in Pakistan.
