Corona effect: Independence celebrations at Red Fort cut short, students not involved

New delhi date. 14 July 2020, Tuesday

The corona virus has completely changed our lives. Corona will also have an impact on this year's Independence Day celebrations. The Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort have been scaled back in view of the Corona epidemic. The timing of this year's program has been reduced. Also, compared to last year, only 20 per cent of YPs will attend the Independence Day celebrations this year. The school’s students will not be at the ceremony this year.

Just last week, Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar and ASI officials visited the Red Fort. He observed security including preparation. This year the whole program is being organized with social distance in mind. Not a single child or student can participate in the program this year. The seating arrangement for VIP people has also been completely changed.

Most notably, the event will also include 1,500 people who have beaten Corona, including 500 local policemen. Another 1000 people will come from different states of the country. Every year about 10,000 people gather at the Red Fort for the Independence Day celebrations, while nothing like this will happen this year. People will only be able to listen to the Prime Minister's speech on TV or on the phone.
