China speeds up road construction in Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi, July 9, 2020, Thursday

China, which has been pushing to stop India from building roads in eastern Ladakh, is speeding to build roads along the Arunachal Pradesh border.

For this, China is using machinery that can work in any mountainous area. This is called the Spider Excavator. The Chinese army is building this road near where the Brahmaputra River enters India.

According to a report in a Chinese newspaper, the Chinese army is using machines called spider excavators to build roads in mountainous areas. This increases the speed of road construction. China is also ahead of India in increasing facilities near the LAC. However, now India is also increasingly embroiled in disputes between the two countries over the construction of facilities, including roads, within its borders.

The border area adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh is also considered sensitive. In 1975, there was a bloody clash between the Chinese and Indian forces in the same area. Because China has been claiming the area here as well.

The Indian Army has also stepped up patrolling here following the Chinese move.
