China lowers Ladakh tensions, withdraws troops 1.5km from Galvan Valley

New delhi date. 6 July 2020, Monday

India's aggressive stance on the Ladakh issue has softened China's aggressive stance. Beijing has been rocked by ongoing tensions between India and China in the Galvan Valley region and has withdrawn its troops 1.5 km from the conflict zone in the Galvan Valley. It may be mentioned that a multi-level commander level meeting has also been held to reduce tensions between the two countries. Besides, as tensions in Ladakh are not easing, Prime Minister Modi's government had also put NSA Ajit Doval on the front line.

Will China's move reduce tensions?

Experts see this as the first step in reducing stress. It may be mentioned that on the night of June 15, there was a bloody clash between the soldiers of the two countries in which 40 Chinese soldiers were killed. Chinese troops have retreated about 1.5 km in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh as part of a disengagement process. According to military sources, the Chinese troops have also withdrawn their camps. However, the army has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.

The Galvan Valley became a buffer zone

It was learned that the armies of both the countries had agreed for relocation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Galvan Valley has now been turned into a buffer zone to prevent any such violent incidents in the future.

Physical Verification by India

On June 30, the two countries' crop commanders agreed that Chinese troops would withdraw from the disputed area. India monitored the situation with drones on Sunday to confirm China's promise, and an official said Chinese troops had withdrawn 1.5km from the Galvanwala area. Apart from that both the parties are also removing the temporary structure. India has also carried out physical verification of the withdrawal of Chinese troops.

The retreat of the soldiers of both countries

Indian and Chinese troops have retreated a bit near the LAC in the Galwan region of eastern Ladakh. It is learned that on the basis of the agreement reached at the corps commander level meeting held on June 30, disengagement in the Galvan area has started. The movement took place near Patrol Point 14 i.e. PP-14 in Galvan area. This is the place where a violent clash took place between the two countries on the night of June 15. At this point the Chinese troops had advanced beyond India's perception line. Now the Chinese troops have retreated about 1.5 km and the Indian troops have retreated in the same way.

Will China betray somewhere again?

The weather has also been challenging over the last few days and the Galvan River has become more vibrant, a senior official said. Because of this the Chinese troops withdrew due to the weather challenge that it is difficult to say based on the consensus reached during the discussion. Heavy vehicles of Chinese troops have also been seen retreating in Galwan, Gogra and Hot Spring areas.

Prime Minister's Leh tour

Amid tensions with China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Leh on July 3 and met the troops there. The era of regionalism is over and now is the time for developmentalism. Evolution is only relevant in a rapidly changing world. Opportunity for evolutionism is the basis of development. It was regionalism that destroyed mankind in the last century. Those who insist on regionalism are a threat to world peace, ”he said. At the same time, history has witnessed the end of regionalist forces, he said. It may be mentioned that China periodically claims Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. Not only that but recently he also claimed some lands of Russia and Bhutan.
