Amid tensions with China, construction of roads and bridges near the border is on a war footing.

New Delhi, July 7, 2020, Tuesday

Amid ongoing tensions on the border with China, India has continued to build roads and bridges near the border on a war footing.

According to a news channel, work has been going on for the last 3 years to build 40 bridges and 20 of these bridges have been completed. A target of 66 strategically important roads has also been set by 2022.

The Border Roads Organization is building new and stronger bridges to replace the old ones, allowing heavy army trucks and tanks to pass through.

China is also shocked by India's speed in strengthening infrastructure near the border. Work on the Neemu Dwarka Road, a forward base visited by PM Modi recently, is also in full swing. PM Modi is also believed to be interested in making this road. Once the road is built, India will be able to send troops to Siachen without being seen by Pakistan.
