After India and America, now Britain is also preparing to take big action against China. Britain is considering banning Chinese telecom company Huawei Technologies' 5G network.

British Prime Minister Boris Jonas had earlier in January abandoned security concerns and allowed Huawei to play a limited role in the UK's 5G network. Many countries have banned Chinese apps and companies for security reasons. India also recently banned 59 Chinese apps, including the most popular TikTok app in India.

The United States has previously banned Huawei Technology and GTE Corporation. The United States has said both Chinese companies and their subsidiaries are "dangerous to national security." Huawei and ZTE have already been accused of sharing data on US citizens with the Chinese government.

The reason for the ban by America

For the past decade or so, the US has been questioning Huawei and ZTE. The matter was first formally taken up in 2012. At the time, the U.S. House Intelligence Committee said in a report that Huawei and ZTE were a threat to U.S. national security. It also said that none of these companies had answered questions raised by the United States.

Then in 2018, US President Donald Trump said that ZTE could continue its business in the US. But at the same time, the company will have to pay 1. 1.3 billion in fines and ensure a high-level security guarantee.

Trump's first former President Barack Obama's administration also banned ZTE for seven years. The ruling was imposed on the Obama administration for allegedly violating economic sanctions on Iran.
