The quake was felt in Kargil, Ladakh. The quake measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake was felt in Kargil at 1:11 pm. The center is located 119 km northwest of Kargil.

Shortly after the quake in Ladakh, tremors were also felt in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The quake, which struck at 2:02 pm, had a magnitude of 3.6. There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
