A rally to smuggle gold worth Rs 15 crore reached the CM's office in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, dated 7 July 2020, Tuesday

A gold smuggling rally in Kerala has reached the office of Chief Minister P Vijayan and caused a stir on the political front.

According to the details received, gold worth Rs 15 crore was seized at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Surprisingly, the gold arrived in the air cargo through a diplomatic bag and now an IAS officer posted in Chief Minister P Vijayan's office is accused of rescuing a former foreign embassy employee in the case.

The state government has since leveled allegations against the CMO in the case. The Congress has said that the matter should be investigated by the CBI. The chief minister's office has become a hotbed of criminals. The BJP has alleged that the customs officers received a call from the chief minister's office immediately after the gold was seized.

P Vijay, meanwhile, has denied all the allegations, saying the chief minister's office has never spoken to a person involved in corruption and people know that anyone involved in smuggling will not be released.
