New Delhi, Monday 8 June 2020

Two suspects have been arrested in espionage cases in Rajasthan's Bikaner and Sriganganagar districts. Police sources gave this information on Monday (June 8). Rajasthan Police Intelligence Unit has arrested Vikas Kumar, 29, a civil defense staff member of Army Armament Depot in Sriganganagar district and Chimanlal, 22, a contract employee of Army's Mahajan Field Firing Range (MMFR) in Bikaner.

Both were working as spy agents for Pakistan's ISI. The accused are being questioned. Both suspects have been under surveillance for the past several days. The operation was carried out by the Rajasthan Police's intelligence unit on the basis of intelligence provided by Lucknow's Military Intelligence (MI).

In August 2019, MI Lucknow received information through its client, spy agent Vikas Kumar, who was passing military information to his operator in Pakistan. Kumar was trapped by a Pakistani woman from Multan through the Facebook of the Pakistani Intelligence Operative (PIO). Was running a Facebook account.

The MI unit found out that Kumar was providing military information related to the orbit, in addition to providing information about the military units coming for the firing exercise-military exercise, in return for which he also took money. It was also found that he was getting money in his three bank accounts and also in his brother's account.

MI's Lucknow unit shared the case with the Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorism squad in January 2020, after which Kumar was jointly monitored and analyzed by both law enforcement agencies under Operation Code called 'Desert Chase'.
