A plane crash in Pakistan last month killed 97 people. Now, the initial investigation of the accident has revealed that the accident was caused by the mistake of the pilots who were discussing the corona virus during landing. An initial investigation report has been released on Wednesday.

On May 22, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crashed in a residential area just before landing in Karachi. The crash, which occurred a short distance from the airport, killed all but two passengers and crew members.

Presenting the report in the Pakistani parliament, Pakistan's Civil Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said the pilot and air traffic controller did not follow the rules. He said they were discussing the Corona virus when the Airbus A320 landed. The focus of the pilot and co-pilot was not on flying the plane and they were conversing on the corona throughout the journey. He just had the virus in his brain. His family was also impressed and they were discussing it. Unfortunately the pilot was in over confidence.

The report said the plane was flying at twice the altitude it was supposed to be when heading towards the runway. The pilot and air traffic controller ignored the rules of flight. This caused damage to the engine and the plane crashed.

The plane crashed in a residential area near the airport during the second attempt at landing, the report said. The investigation team found this out from the investigation of the cockpit data and voice recorder. The investigation team includes experts from the French government, the aircraft industry, a detailed investigation report could come by the end of this year.
