An alert has been issued in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman-Diu-Dadarnagar Haveli when a natural storm is likely to hit Gujarat and Maharashtra by June 3.
State governments have now started evacuating people living near the coast and in low-lying areas. The hurricane is reported to be approaching Mumbai and Palghar. The hurricane is currently 450 km from Mumbai.

In view of the hurricane in Gujarat, 10 NDRF teams have been deployed in five districts of South Gujarat - Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad and Dang and Bhavnagar and Amreli districts of Saurashtra.
The Maharashtra government has alerted Mumbai and surrounding districts.
