New delhi date. 30 June 2020, Tuesday

The Modi government has banned 59 Chinese mobile apps that pose a threat to the country. Following the order, the government has also directed Google and internet service providers to remove the relevant application. In the midst of all this, information is being received that the government may continue to shock China on digital platforms in the future. Going forward, the Chinese app could be banned if needed.

The government banned 59 Chinese apps on June 29, including popular apps such as Tiktok and Sherit. The government claimed that various information was being sent to another country through this app which was not suitable for the country. The government said that if any app is found to be against the national interest in the future, action could be taken against many such apps.

The Modi government has decided to ban 59 Chinese apps like Tiktok, WeChat, UC Browser in the interest of national security. The decision was taken by the Indian government on Monday amid escalating tensions in which 20 Indians were killed in a violent clash between Chinese and Indian forces in eastern Ladakh a few days ago.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has compiled a list of 59 Chinese apps that are now banned in India. "We have credible notification that such an app was a threat to our sovereignty, integrity and defense so we took this step," the ministry said.

According to the statement, 'data collection, mining and profiling was not conducive to national security and India's defense. It was affecting the sovereignty and integrity of our country, which was a matter of grave concern and urgent action was needed. The ministry expressed confidence that the move would protect the interests of millions of Indian mobile users.

Following the decision, the government also ordered Internet service providers and Google not to make the banned app available.
