Pakistan also shelled the border for the second day in a row. An Indian soldier was killed in an airstrike in Pakistan on Monday. According to a military official, Pakistan shelled Rajouri district on Monday.

The Pakistani army first shelled the LOC in the Krishna Valley in Poonch, and later on the international border in the Hiranagar area in Kathua.

In a single day, the Pakistani military targeted both the international border and the LOC. Constable Deepak Karki was critically injured in the shelling in Noshera sector in Rajouri, so he was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to an army official, the shelling was started by Pakistan at 5.30 am. The shelling targeted rural areas and Indian Army outposts. However, the Indian troops also responded aggressively. Although there were no reports of casualties in the Pakistani army, large quantities of crops were harvested. The outposts were damaged.

Army PRO Devender Anand said that the country will always remember the sacrifices of the martyred jawans. Four people have been killed in shelling by Pakistan this month. One civilian was also killed.

Earlier, a jawan was martyred in a Pakistani shelling in Rajouri on June 4, while a similar firing took place on June 10 in which a jawan was also killed. The shelling by Pakistan this year has also damaged many rural areas.

There have been 2027 ceasefire violations by the Pakistani military so far this year. On the other hand, there were reports of terrorists hiding in Anantnag, after which the Indian Army launched a long-running operation to eradicate the militants. An investigation is underway following reports that the terrorists later fled.
