India's proximity to the US is pushing China, India will decide the direction of the 21st century

Washington, June 18, 2020, Thursday

The whole world is worried after the bloody conflict on the Ladakh front between India and China, the two superpowers of Asia.

"India's attitude towards China will determine the direction of the 21st century," Peter Francopen, a professor of global history at Oxford University, told a media conference.

According to Professor Frankopen, the minerals in the soil in Ladakh are important but Ladakh is not an area where minerals can be easily obtained. The fact is that China wants to put pressure on India. China's growing ties with the United States have made China proud. For India, China has indirectly warned that there is no need to be close to the US. India wants to be an ally of the US for many reasons. So much can be at stake. If India wants to give a tough answer to China, it means that India's closeness with the US will increase. The US wants the same. India has been strengthened in the current conflict. If India chooses the path of conflict with China, the course of the 21st century will also be different.

"Investment in China is declining because of the coronet," he said. China is also at odds with the US. Other countries involved with China on the border road infrastructure project are confused.

However, the professor said that if PM Modi opted to try to improve relations with China, the message would be that the two superpowers in Asia could work together to solve the problems.
