There is good news about Indian Railways. According to the government, Indian Railways has had the best safety performance so far last year. Not a single passenger has been killed in a rail accident since April 2019.
According to a PIB press release, Indian Railways has recorded the best safety record ever between April 2019 and March 2020. This year too (from 01-04-2019 to 08-06-2020) no passenger was killed in any rail accident. This is the first time since the introduction of railways in India in the year 2019-20.
"Not a single passenger has been killed in the last 15 months as a result of continuous efforts by Indian Railways to improve safety performance in all respects," the press release said.
