Indian Air Force begins preparations amid Indo-China border tensions

Helicopter traffic has also increased as fighter jets are pounding the skies from Leh to Ladakh amid tensions in eastern Ladakh on the Indo-China border.

The Indian Air Force has deployed its fighter jets on an advance base. Meanwhile, Air Chief RKS Bhadauria has visited Leh and Srinagar airbases, which will be the most important in any awkward situation.

India, meanwhile, has deployed Sukhoi 30MKI, Mirage 2000 and Jaguar fighter jets to advanced positions, from where they can take immediate flight.

American Apache Attack Helicopters have also been deployed to assist Indian Army personnel. Chinook helicopters have also been deployed at Leh. The Mi 17V5 medium lift choppers are also making a significant contribution to the military and cargo supply.

News agency ANI has released some recent pictures of Leh and Ladakh showing helicopters and fighter jets hovering in the sky.

The visit by the Air Force chief is also significant as the tenants have reached Leh after a meeting of the country's security chiefs following a violent clash between the two countries' troops in the Galvan Valley.

A government official told ANI, "The Air Force chief was on a two-day tour, he has inspected the operational readiness.

Bhadauria reached Leh on June 17 and then visited Srinagar Airbase on June 18. Both these airbases are very close to East Ladakh. In this mountainous region, the most important for any aircraft operation.
