India now at risk of community transmission, government fails: National Task Force

New delhi date. 1 June 2020, Monday

Experts have also revealed the risk of community transmission of the corona virus in the country as the fifth phase of lockdown begins in the country from today. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, experts from the National Task Force on Corona Virus Prevention said it was a mistake to assume that corona was possible in the current circumstances as corona was now being transmitted in many parts of India.

Members of the National Task Force formed for Covid-19 also criticized the government's approach to tackling the Corona transition. Probable evidence of community transmission was also found earlier in India. In April, India's medical research institute ICMR also hinted at this, which was ignored by the Ministry of Health. The National Task Force formed a committee in April to monitor the Corona epidemic.

The letter was written by experts from Aims, BHU, JNU

Three prominent medical organizations wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 25 criticizing the Centre's approach to controlling the Koro epidemic. Former advisors to the Ministry of Health, AIIMS, BHU, former and current professors of JNU, etc. wrote letters to the Prime Minister and Dr. It was also signed by DCS Reddy. Dr. Reddy is the chairman of a committee set up to study Corona.

Criticism of the strict rules of lockdown

The experts in the letter termed the lockdown as cruel and said India would now have to pay the price for the rigidity of the lockdown, lack of coordination in policies and so on. The letter said, "It is unrealistic to think that corona will be controlled at this level as full community transmission has started in many clusters of India."

The laborers had to be allowed to go home

The letter added that workers should have been allowed to return to their homes only when the transition was slow at the beginning of the epidemic, as doing so would avoid the current situation. Laborers returning from the cities are now making the transition to the corners of the country so that many rural areas will be affected and there are not even adequate health facilities available.
