Here is the answer to the question of where the money of PM Cares Fund was spent

New Delhi, Monday 15 June 2020

The entire country is currently battling the Corona epidemic. The number of positive cases of corona is increasing day by day. Mortality is also on the rise. Ventilators are very necessary to protect critical patients of corona.

An important decision has been taken to purchase 50,000 ventilators from the PM Cares Fund to meet the need for ventilators in the country. An estimated Rs 2,000 crore has been allocated for the purchase of ventilators.

According to a study by Princeton University's Center for Disaster Dynamics, Economics and Policy (CDDEP), India has purchased a total of 47,481 ventilators in 70 years.

This includes both government and private hospitals. Against this, the country will get 50,000 ventilators in a single effort through PM Cares Funds.

CDDEP's study presents the state of the ventilator by state. Government hospitals have 17,850 ventilators and private sector hospitals have 29,631 ventilators. Against this the country will be able to fight the Corona more vigorously with 50,000 ventilators in a single attempt.

It may be mentioned here that questions have been raised about the PM Cares Fund on behalf of the Opposition from Congress President Sonia Gandhi to lower levels. Questions were also raised about its audit.

On Monday, BJP vice-president Baijayant Panda tweeted and reacted by saying that the PM Cares Fund was much cleaner than the Nehru-era PMNRF, as there was no room for any party leader.

The PM Cares Fund consists only of elected and constitutional representatives. The PMNRF includes the Congress president.
