Helicopter patrols by China near LAC amid ongoing tensions

Ladakh, Monday 8 June 2020

On the one hand, efforts are being made between India and China to resolve the ongoing tensions in eastern Ladakh. There, China has increased helicopter activity near the LAC on its border in the last 7-8 days. Sources say it is possible that China is flying helicopters to help its troops located near the LAC.

China is using Mi-17 and other helicopters for this. China has been flying helicopters along the eastern Ladakh border, including Galwan, for the past few months.

Sources also say that in recent days, a Chinese helicopter once landed at the Indian border in Galvan. China violated the air border.

In early May, when a Chinese helicopter appeared near the Indian border, the Air Force chased it with its fighter jets and removed it from the air border. At the same time, there were reports of clashes between Indian and Chinese troops.

According to government sources, the Chinese military helicopter was spotted very close to the LAC. After this, the Indian Air Force repelled him with a fighter jet.

It may be mentioned here that since the beginning of May, there has been tension between India and China over LAC. China deployed large numbers of troops near the LAC. After this, India also sent its troops near the LAC.

The two countries have discussed several times to take control of the situation. On June 6, the level of Lieutenant General was discussed. However, at present no effect is being seen. There is a state of tension on the border.
