From today, 'One Nation, One Ration Card' will be implemented, currently this scheme has been implemented in 20 states of the country

From today, the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme has been implemented across the country. The new system has been implemented in a total of 20 states of the country under the National Food Security Plan. Odisha, Mizoram and Sikkim have joined the new system since June 1. Under this scheme, ration card holders will be able to avail their quota of foodgrains from any fair price shop in these 20 states of the country from today.

According to the Ministry of Food, from August 1, 2020, Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Manipur will also join the scheme. So that the number of states connected under this scheme will be 23. The Government of India has set a target of connecting all the States and Union Territories of the country by March 2021 under this scheme.

Earlier this was the rule

Earlier in the ration card, there was a rule that ration could be obtained only from the district in which the ration card was made. He did not get the benefit of changing the district but now with the implementation of this scheme, the ration card holder will be able to get his foodgrains from any part of the country.

The scheme will benefit from this

The scheme will benefit migrant laborers shifting from one place to another. Migrant laborers will be able to get their own grain from any state. Fake ration cards can be prevented. The plan was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the announcement of the economic package.
