Efforts are being made to expedite the testing as corona virus cases continue to rise in the country. Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan on Thursday launched a mobile lab that will prove useful in Corona's test. Testing can be done in any area through this lab and it is the first lab of its kind.

It is learned that 25 tests of Corona virus can be done daily through this mobile lab with RT-PCR technology and 300 tests with ELISA technology. Apart from that some tests related to TB and HIV can also be done. The mobile lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. According to the government, the lab will be used in places where there is no lab facility, i.e. in villages and towns.

"In the month of February, there was only one lab in our country but today we have 953 labs," said Union Health Minister Harshvardhan. About 700 of them are government labs to increase testing of corona virus in the country. A total of 63 lakh corona virus tests have been conducted in the country so far and about 2.5 lakh tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.

The ICMR has set a target of three lakh corona tests per day in the country by the end of June. At present about 1.5 lakh tests are being conducted every day and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his meeting with the Chief Ministers spoke of emphasizing on testing.
