China's eye also on the Andaman Islands, experts warn

Port Blair, Ta. 20. Saturday, June, 2020

Amid India's ongoing tensions with China on the Ladakh front, security agencies and defense experts are concerned about the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Experts and some top Indian naval officials believe that if the Chinese navy opens a maritime front in response to Ladakh, it could pose a threat to the Andaman Islands.

According to a senior official, China is not in the mood for a major dispute with India at the moment.

Officials believe that China may try to harm India in some other way. China has been setting up military bases on several islands in recent days. Now he is looking for other such areas where he can use the sea islands strategically. We have the Andaman Islands but we have not yet understood its full significance.

According to officials, India should send resources to islands 700 nautical miles from mainland India to monitor the movement of Chinese naval forces.
