China has continued to build on the eight-kilometer stretch of Pangong Lake.

New Delhi, June 21, 2020, Sunday

Even after the bloody confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley area on the Ladakh front, the issue of infiltration of Chinese troops into the Pangong Lake area is still on the rise.

It is said that China has strengthened its presence in the eight-kilometer area of Pangong Lake. The Chinese, who have been stationed here since the beginning of May, have now built bunkers and other structures on the north bank of the lake. Are shattered.

China has increased its military presence in the Galvan Valley while negotiations are underway. Sources say troops from both countries have almost retreated to their respective territories following the bloodshed in the Galvan Valley. However, the two countries have not withdrawn their military equipment.

Some believe that China's incursion into Pangong Lake is more serious, as Chinese troops are now preventing Indian troops from patrolling the eastern part of Finger Four after the May 5 clashes here. Finger Three and Four have been Indo-Tibetan Border Force posts for years. But over the past month, China has occupied an area between Finger Four and Eight, which it is unwilling to talk about.

Earlier, in 1999, when the Indian Army was engaged on the Kargil front, China paved the road overnight to Finger Four and later cleared it. Chinese troops patrolled the area from Finger 8 to Finger Four. Until then China had not occupied the area but now it has occupied it by preparing a defense structure.

India has already decided that the Chinese army should withdraw from here. India wants the status quo before April. For this, China will have to demolish the constructions done between Finger 4 and 8, which may take time.
