Border situation under control, relations with Nepal will improve: Army chief Narwane

Indian Army Chief MM Narwane said the situation on the border with China was currently under control. "There are many levels of dialogue going on between China and India at the military level and through it we are able to resolve all kinds of contentious issues," he said.

Army Chief Manoj Mukund Narwane said he wanted to reassure the countrymen that the situation with China on the border was under control and that talks were underway with China at various levels, beginning with a commander-level story.

Dispute resolution through communication

According to the Army President, the two sides withdrew after the talks and the dispute over the border between the two countries could be resolved through continuous dialogue. On Friday, Indian and Chinese military officials held talks in the Galvan region. The major general level talks focused on reducing tensions in the Galvan region.

Talks between the corps commanders of the two countries' armies began on June 6. It was led by Lieutenant Harinder Singh from India while Major General Liu Lin from China was involved. The two countries' armies withdrew after the talks. Later on Friday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with CDS Bipin Rawat and the three army chiefs to take stock of the situation on the border.

Strong ties with Nepal

According to Army Chief Narwane, India's relations with Nepal are strong. India has geographical, cultural, historical and religious ties with Nepal and also friendly relations between the people of the two countries. India's relations with Nepal have been very good in the past and will continue to be so in the future.
