UAE's tough stance on anti-Muslim post case, 3 more Indians lose jobs

UAE, Ta. 4 May 2020, Monday

Three Indians have been fired or suspended for posting Islamophobia on social media in the United Arab Emirates. Just a few days ago, the Indian ambassador to the UAE had instructed the traveling Indians not to post any kind of provocative post on social media in strict terms. As many as six Indians living in the UAE have been prosecuted for posting on social media and three more Indians have been added to the list.

The list includes chef Rawat Rohit, storekeeper Sachin Kinnigoli and a cash custodian whose employer has not been identified. The number of people facing action in the case of a social media post linked to Islamophobia is steadily rising so that Indian tourists can be said to have ignored their ambassador's instructions. Princess Hand Kasimi of the UAE also warned that harsh action would be taken against Indians living in her country if they posted spreading hatred.

After the princess's aggressive tweet, Indian Ambassador Pawan Kumar said that India and the UAE treat everyone equally without any discrimination and instructed Indians living in the UAE to keep that in mind. But despite the catastrophic posts made by three more Indians last week, social media users complained to them and employers had to take action against them. Such activity by Indians living in the UAE is likely to affect the friendship between the two countries.
